Rosters are accepted via Clever, ClassLink, or CSV Upload
UCSF Multitudes supports secure, automated rostering through Clever and ClassLink. Connecting your roster ensures seamless student and staff account setup, reduces manual work, and improves data accuracy. For schools not using Clever or ClassLink, we also support CSV file uploads.
Important Timelines for 2025–26
August 11, 2025 – Rostering and account setup begins.
This includes Clever and ClassLink Single Sign-On (SSO), School Admin accounts, and educator accounts.August 25, 2025 – Screening opens for all students.

Step 1: Confirm Your Rostering Method
If your district uses Clever or ClassLink: You can securely connect your roster to UCSF Multitudes.
If your school does not use either: Use our CSV upload process (see below).
Step 2: Request a Data-Sharing Connection
Contact your district technology lead or data manager.
Request a secure connection to share student, staff, and class roster data with UCSF Multitudes.
Step 3: Approve and Authorize
For Clever
Log in to your district Clever dashboard.
Go to Applications > Add Applications.

Authorize roster sharing with UCSF Multitudes and click Send Integration Request.
Please note for Research Suite participants, please ensure Transitional Kindergarten students are included in your sharing rules.
For ClassLink
- Log in to ClassLink Roster Server.
- Go to Applications and select UCSF Multitudes.
- Click Edit on your sharing rules. Please note for Research Suite participants, please ensure Transitional Kindergarten students are included in your sharing rules.
- Make sure the newly required fields are included (e.g., “Grade” under Class data).
- Save your changes.
- Still in Roster Server, click into the UCSF Multitudes application.
- Look for the Sync or Run Now button (exact wording may vary).
- Click it to immediately send the updated data.
- If you don’t see this option, the sync will run automatically during the next scheduled nightly sync.
- Wait a few minutes, then log in to UCSF Multitudes to check if the new data fields appear.
- If the fields are still missing, contact your ClassLink admin

CSV Upload Option (For Schools Not Using Clever or ClassLink)
Starting August 11, 2025, School Admins can upload rosters using a CSV file.
What You Can Do
Upload CSV Files: Use our simple template to upload student and staff data.
Sync Rosters by School: If you manage multiple schools, upload one CSV per school.
Update Rosters Anytime: If staffing or enrollment changes mid-year, simply upload a new CSV.
Where to Find CSV Upload
Log in to your School Admin account.
Go to the Roster tab.
Download the CSV template and upload your completed file.
Notify your School Success representative when your file is uploaded, or submit a support request if you’re unsure who to contact.
Once confirmed, log in to verify your schools and classrooms are correct.

How to use the CSV template?
- Download the .csv rostering template here
- Do not edit the column headers. Modifying the column headers will result in your .csv roster file to be unusable.
- Prepare one .csv file per school. Files combining multiple schools cannot be processed.

Complete all fields as indicated by the column headers. Enter one row per student.
a. Optional fields:
teacher_idandclass_id(you may use your own school specific identifiers here if desired).b. Private schools: The
student_ssidcolumn may not apply. -
For the grade column, you must use the following:
a. TK for Transitional Kindergarten (PK is not accepted in the .csv upload at this time, please use the abbreviation TK in the Grade column for Transitional Kindergarten or Pre-Kindergarten students)
b. KG for Kindergarten
c. 01 for First Grade
d. 02 for Second Grade
Please note: Research Suite participants, please ensure Transitional Kindergarten students are included in your .csv files. Reminder, your .csv needs to include ALL students you need to access on Multitudes (aka your full school). You cannot add a subset of students via .csv at this time.
