Q: I'm not a classroom teacher supporting with Multitudes, do I need to set a password? Can I SSO using Clever or ClassLink?
A: Yes and Yes!
For the start of the 25'-26' school year, the Multitudes rostering integration automatically in pulled classroom teachers and enabled them for SSO. For non-classroom supporting staff, your school admin likely set you up as an authorized Multitudes user and assigned you to have access to the right classrooms.
Please ensure you have followed the below steps in this order so you can properly SSO via Clever or ClassLink:
(1) Set a password for Multitudes. Check your email:
Sender: noreply_multitudes@ucsf.edu
Subject line: "Welcome to UCSF Multitudes!"
Follow the steps to set your password and keep your password in a secure place, you will need it to link your account to enable SSO.
(2) When you launch Multitudes from Clever or ClassLink in order to SSO, you should see a step like this asking you to link your accounts. If you skip this step, a duplicate account may be created that will not have access to the appropriate classrooms you need to access. If you think you may have had a duplicate account created, let us know here and we will get this resolved for you: Submit a request (fastest way to get support!)
Please note, you will only be prompted to link your account during the first time you SSO. If you skipped this step please submit a request to let us know you skipped this step so we can get your account fixed.
(3) Next, you'll see a screen like this where you need to enter the password you set from step 1. This will allow us to properly link your accounts.
Q: When I SSO via Clever or ClassLink, I see there are "No Students Found" - why is this?
A: If you see something like this (see screenshot here below), it may could mean a few different things.
First, if you have gotten here, you have successfully logged in via SSO (yay!) - however your school may not have been rostered yet. If you need to initiate rostering, check out this article. If you aren't sure of your school or district's rostering status, please reach out to your School Success Representative or submit a request here.
Q: I'm testing SSO as a student but nothing loads, why is that?
A: On the Multitudes platform, students do not have accounts so SSO will not work from the student side.
