UCSF Multitudes supports secure, automated rostering through ClassLink. This article explains how to connect your roster, update your data-sharing rules, trigger a full sync, and confirm that your ClassLink data is flowing into UCSF Multitudes.
Before You Begin
Important: Starting August 10, 2026, rostering and account setup begins for the 2026-27 school year.
Confirm that your district uses ClassLink before you continue. If your district does not use ClassLink, Multitudes supports two other rostering methods that you can use instead:
How to Roster with ClassLink
Request a Data-Sharing Connection
Contact your district technology lead or data manager.
Request a secure connection to share student, staff, and class roster data with UCSF Multitudes.
Note: If you’re unsure how to approve data sharing, contact your district technology team.
Update Your Data-Sharing Rules in ClassLink Roster Server
- Sign in to ClassLink Roster Server.
- Go to Applications and select UCSF Multitudes.
- Select Edit on your sharing rules.
- Make sure Grade is shared under Class data.
- Save your changes.
Note: If you are part of the Research Suite, make sure your sharing rules include Transitional Kindergarten students.
Trigger a Full Sync
- In Roster Server, open the UCSF Multitudes application.
- Look for the Sync or Run Now button.
- Select the button to send the updated data right away. If you do not see this option, wait for the next scheduled nightly sync.
Confirm the Sync
- Wait a few minutes.
- Log in to UCSF Multitudes and check whether the new data fields appear.
Note: If the fields still do not appear, contact your ClassLink admin.
