Use this checklist before screening day to make sure your devices, browser, and network are ready. Doing this ahead of time helps to ensure you are ready to screen with Multitudes!
1: Run the Test Assets Check
Confirm that images load as expected (see reference images below), you can hear and see the video play, and you can hear the audio samples
For reference, here's what should appear on this page:
If anything doesn’t load, please reach out to us here.
2: Test out a Universal Screener with a trial student
Next, using your training login, we recommend you run a Universal Screener in full to ensure you can pair your devices and both the educator and student screens work as expected.
We recommend testing in the locations where you will be screening and using the actual devices (or a representative sample of devices) that will be available during screening.
Ahead of testing the Universal Screener, we recommend having reviewed the asynchronous training guides available on the Resources section of the platform > Getting Started tab (you can access this through your Multitudes training login), see here:
Here are the steps for testing a Universal Screener:
☐ Step 1. Assemble your two Wi-Fi–enabled devices
One for you (the test administrator)
One for the student
-
Please review:
It’s recommended to use devices of the same operating system.
Devices must connect to the internet using the same browser (recommended to use the most up to date browser versions of Safari or Chrome).
Additional technology requirement details are available here
☐ Step 2. Navigate to the Multitudes URL
On the test administrator device, navigate to https://multitudes.ucsf.edu/, click on "Educator/Proctor" and log in using your credentials
On the student device, navigate to https://multitudes.ucsf.edu/, click on "Student Device" (there is no further login required for students)
☐ Step 3. Select the student you'd like to assess
-
With your training login, you can use the "Grade" dropdown if you'd like to pick a student from a specific grade (kindergarten, first grade, or second grade) - or you can just choose any student by clicking the blue "Select" button
☐ Step 4. Begin the assessment
After selecting your student, you'll be guided to select your language of assessment, and which assessment you'd like to test. For the purposes of an initial tech check, we recommend testing a Universal Screener in full for each grade (one for kindergarten, one for first grade, one for second grade). Each grade features different tasks, so it's important to ensure that all tasks function correctly on the devices being used by you and your student.
-
After selecting the assessment you'd like to test, you'll "pair" the devices by entering the code on the student device in to the interface on the educator device, like this:
- For task specific administration details and guidance, please review the asynchronous training guides (videos) and the Multitudes Administration Manuals available on the Resources section of the platform, "Getting Started" tab.
